Mini Books
For my last final piece, I wanted to go through with the idea of making a photo book from scratch, but instead of an ordinary-looking photo book like my first final piece, I wanted to make it a bit more unique and incorporate something that I enjoy into it which is origami. I was inspired by the video shown on the right and I think this type of photo book would be a great way to showcase my photographs since it is quite unique and interesting to look at. This piece was to show what I have found through my investigation of fashion in culture, exploring cultural fashion was one of my intentions and I felt that his unique pop up book would be a suitable choice.
Initially, I was going to make 4 separate books to show how each culture was different however, it looked too plain when I created my first book, so I decided to conjoin them all in one book. After conjoining them altogether in one mini book, it looked less empty and the fact that I had four different sections for each of the cultures made it look better. Furthermore, it could also be seen as although there are hundreds of different cultures in the world, we are all human in the end. Initially, I wanted to add more cultural things to each section such as a pattern, or the skyline to fill in the gaps where I didn't have images, but I didn't have time, but I felt that it might've looked better. |
